Responsibilities:

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a
Travel
Dental Hygienist with Corizon Health at our following locations: Wyoming Farm Correctional Facility located in Riverton, Wyoming Women’s Center located in Lusk, and Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution, located in Torrington.

  • Scale and polish teeth and roots. Remove sutures. Take study models. Polish amalgam restorations. Place and remove rubber dams.
  • Assist dentist in administering fluoride treatments. Instruct inmates in proper dental hygiene. Develop oral hygiene education program for inmates.
  • Assist dentist in completing diagnostic x-rays.
  • Record all aspects of treatment provided and other pertinent information in the inmate’s dental record.
  • Initiate and maintain recall program for additional instructions and treatment for inmates whose condition and/or attitude indicate a need. Also a follow-up prophylaxis treatment in a specific time interval.
  • Check and maintain instruments, equipment and supplies including ordering replacements and submitting work orders.
  • Ensure proper clean-up, packaging and sterilizing of instruments. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. Instruct dental assistant in proper techniques and other training as directed
  • Perform dental assessments when required. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Flexible with schedule. Either 4 hours per week or 8 hours ever other week.

Experience & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience
  • Must have completed accredited training appropriate to the field.
  • Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
  • Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
  • Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and / or crawl occasionally.
  • Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well-being or that of your fellow employees or that of inmates.

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
