Case Manager (non-clinical) – Medford/Ashland – Rogue Retreat – Medford, OR

Rogue Retreat meets homeless people as they are (many with addiction and/or mental health challenges) and provides creative and temporary housing for them: a place to call home. With community partners and Rogue Retreat’s Community Support Specialists, Rogue Retreat collectively wraps itself around program participants delivering supportive services to help them achieve their highest potential. We achieve our mission and address the growing homeless epidemic in Southern Oregon through providing housing and relationship-based case management that helps participants overcome the barriers that keep them from obtaining housing and becoming self-sufficient. Objective and Purpose

Case Managers guide Rogue Retreat participants to identify issues and challenges that have sidetracked their lives and created their homeless condition. As these are identified Case Managers will help each participant find resources, agencies, and programs, and create a participant driven action plan to help them reach their full potential. Case Managers meet regularly with each participant for encouragement, support and accountability to the personal goals and decisions that are in their developed action plans.

Standard Required Qualifications

1. Must have 2 years’ verifiable work history.

2. Must have a current valid driver’s license.

3. If you have a substance use disorder (addiction) you must have at least 2 years clean since your last use.

Required Case Management Qualifications
1. 1+ year of prior verifiable Case Management experience or 2+ years as a Certified Peer-Support Specialist.

2. Have a degree in social work or other related field or have completed Peer Support Training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a volunteer and/or employee in a social service agency.
  • 2+ years in position requiring management, coaching or equivalent
  • Completed Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Informed Care training or equivalent.
  • Completed positive communication, crisis intervention, and/or de-escalation techniques training.
  • Thorough knowledge or prior experience of homelessness, mental health issues, addiction issues.
  • Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
  • Exhibit good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Exhibit skills in acute problem solving and coaching.
  • Exhibit basic knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google products.
  • Exhibit discipline for personal time management and record keeping.

Essential Functions

  • Meet regularly with each assigned participant, record case notes, develop a weekly action plan and hold them accountable for progress on their goals.
  • Motivate, educate and inspire each participant to help them set goals and dreams for themselves.
  • Keep organized personal files on assigned participants
  • Create a good working relationship with other agencies and social services
  • Be an advocate for participants as needed (i.e.: Court, DHS Family Determination Meetings)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
