JOB GOAL: The ABT is responsible to the Program Supervisor for providing daily care, counsel and supervision to the adolescents living within a residential treatment program. In addition to supporting normal daily operations of the residential unit, ABT staff coordinate with the Program BCBA to implement focused behavioral intervention based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABT technicians facilitate social interactions, as well as design and conduct exciting daily small group activities in a fun, engaging environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing daily care, counsel, and supervision to low functioning adolescents in the VanderArk residential program.
- Assisting in overseeing the treatments programs of individual residents and managing operations of the residential unit.
- Participation in recreational activities when they are scheduled.
- Meal preparation in the residential home.
- Commit to providing excellent, ethical, evidence-based services.
- Complete all job requirements of a developmental care specialist.
- Conduct skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as written in BCBA treatment plans.
- Conduct tolerance training and skill-based training under the direct supervision of the BCBA.
- Conduct natural environment training in relation to milieu expectations and hygiene routines.
- Collect and record accurate data on client behavior as directed by program BCBA.
- Efficiently manage client motivating operations (MOs).
- Participate in Team Meetings and Individual Supervision regularly.
- Communicate regularly with co-workers, home supervisors, and BCBA.
- Utilize opportunities provided for growth and actively participate in professional development.
- Complete progress notes and other documentation as needed in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive trauma informed attitude and professional demeanor at all times.
- Assist in training new employees and instruct implementation of BCBA treatment plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or current RBT certification is preferred
- Prior experience working with ASD or a similar population is preferred
- Prior experience working with children and teenagers with trauma backgrounds is preferred
- Previous experience with data tracking, medical records systems, or similar programs preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Individuals who possess a compassionate and empathetic demeanor
- Individuals with the ability to establish rapport with teenage clients
- Staff must complete and maintain paid RBT training requirements
- Staff will participate in regular and ongoing supervision with program with program BCBA.
HOURS OF WORK: Sunday- Saturday, a combination of 1st, and 2nd shifts.
