Medical Laboratory Scientist/Cert/UKHC – University of Kentucky – Lexington, KY

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified will be responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.

This position will be instrumental in maintaining a quality of service based on accuracy and timely result reporting. This position will be located in the Core Lab, and testing will include, but is not limited to, blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis. The Core Lab has multiple testing sites within the organization: Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite.

The CAP-Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology. In addition, this diverse department provides services to all aspects of the University of Kentucky’s Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted with the minimum hourly rate set at $27.00/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
