Join our busy, growing, multi-specialty private practice whose mission is to provide the best possible patient experience! We are currently interviewing for an Experienced Surgical Scheduling Coordinator in our West Islip location. This is a non-clinical position.
The Surgical Scheduling Coordinators are responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling of surgical procedures as indicated by each neurosurgeon. This department obtains prior authorizations for and schedules all surgical procedures performed by our neurosurgical staff in multiple hospitals island wide.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Desire to provide an exceptional patient experience in our offices and on the phone with our patients
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of all insurances including commercial carriers,
Medicare/Medicaid, Workman’s compensation and NYS No Fault and prior authorization requirements for these
- Basic surgical coding review – Experience with neurosurgery coding ideal!
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- EMR experience and ability to appropriately and completely document patient charts
- Ability to work cohesively with patients, staff members, outside vendors and their representatives, department manager, as well as practice administrators and physicians
- Pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
- Reliability and dependability
Minimum Requirements:
- Two – Three years of surgical procedure authorization/scheduling experience —
NEUROSURGICAL EXPERIENCE A PLUS!!
- Two years of insurance verification experience
- Five years of EMR experience
- Mastery of basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
- High School Diploma
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
