About ThedaCare!

The Room Service Representative takes patient meal orders for the room service program and assists with appropriate meal selections for the patient in accordance with their medically-directed diet order. Enters data into the software program, run reports, and performs other department record keeping functions. Assists with cash handling procedures in the department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Uses excellent customer service skills to order meal choices of the patient or to politely explain when selections need to be modified to fit the prescribed diet order. Takes meal orders via phone or visits patient in room as appropriate. 2. Processes tube feeding and nourishments orders, prints labels, and checks for accuracy. 3. Communicates with patient and/or nutrition care team regarding feeding issues of the patient including the missed meal report. 4. Prepares production records, service factor records, floor stock charges, and other department files. 5. Assists in projects as needed to meet the demands of the department. 6. Identifies and brings forward any issues regarding the room service software program that impede quality service for our patients. Works with food production teams to ensure meal orders are clear. 7. Assists with system applications, quality audits, and training and reference materials for dining services software. 8. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains an organized work area. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties WORK ENVIRONMENT • Normally works in climate controlled environment • Frequent standing with movement throughout work area • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock • Occasional high noise level in work environment • Possible exposure to hazardous materials • Interaction with department members and various catering customers
