LPN/ CMA- Medline Staff – Full-time – Hamilton Center, Inc. – Terre Haute, IN

The Medline staff is responsible for assisting the corporation with administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical office running efficiently and to ensure our consumers are receiving services in a timely manner.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Answer phone calls and follow through on requests (i.e. refills, appointments, referral requests)
  • Greet consumers that come to the office and meet their needs, refer them to staff that can meet their needs immediately.
  • Obtain consumer specimen and prepare for testing as ordered by the prescriber.
  • Collaborate with Mental Health America or pharmaceutical companies for consumer medication assistance.
  • Collaborate with retail and mail order pharmacies, the outreaches and operations department the delivery of medications to the satellite locations, ensuring the consumer receives the medication in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other medical centers to schedule bloodwork or outgoing referrals.
  • Ensure inventory is adequate, ordering prescribers medical/office supplies, business cards, script pads, etc. as needed.
  • Ensure that medication area is secure at all times.
  • Ensure that medication refrigerators are at the proper temperature daily.
  • Greet pharmaceutical representatives, obtaining prescriber signatures upon request.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education activities as scheduled, to continually update current knowledge regarding nursing in general and psychiatric nursing.
  • Participate in cross training as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • Knowledge and skills in the following areas: nursing care, psychiatric illnesses, dynamics of interpersonal relationships, nursing process, physical and psychological assessment skills, treatment planning, case management, basic pharmacology, administration of medication, operation of routine medical equipment, crisis intervention techniques and emergency care.
  • Good written and verbal skills, record keeping, time management and interviewing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to function as a team member.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current licensure by the State of Indiana as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants as a Certified Medical Assistant and in good standing
  • Maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED certifications.
  • Maintain current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
  • Maintain a current Indiana driver’s license.
