The ACD reports to the Clinical Director (CD) and is responsible for the oversight of all clinical functions including Intake, Interventions, Assessment, Mental Health and Addictions Counseling services. Develop and provide oversite to clinical programs at Denver based DRM facilities that may include The Crossing (TC), Lawrence Street Shelter (LSS), Lawrence Street Community Center (LSCC), 48th Avenue Center, and Holly Center. The ACD will work in close cooperation with the Director of Homelessness Resolution and the Director of Housing Stability to implement strategies to impact homeless resolution and required documentation.

The Associate Clinical Director (ACD) is a full-time, exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) which must agree with and abide by our Statement of Faith and Ministry Principles. In addition, all employees must comply with policies as summarized in the DRM Employee Handbook

Hiring Range: $56,800 – $71,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight to the Clinical Team to ensure that the clinical needs are met for all participants. Provide oversight and training to ensure that clinical staff are appropriately trained and following established protocol leading towards long-term housing outcomes (Assessments, Counseling Plans, Case Notes, Reviews, Discharge Summaries)
  • Develop intervention plans and supportive systems necessary to support movement out of homelessness and into available, appropriate, and affordable housing or other long-term solutions, with long-term stability as the goals for those individuals accessing long-term programs at DRM.
  • Work with staff to tend to and develop appropriate interventions for individuals with cognitive challenges, experiencing mental health episodes, physical challenges, and educating staff on appropriate interventions.
  • For those who are not appropriate for services; work with DRM team and with community supports for proper placement. May include communicating with hospital Social Work ER teams about client not being discharged to Shelter and provide hospital staff context information as observed by staff and written in IR’s. Case notes conducted regarding communication with the hospital.
  • When appropriate, engage with Crisis Intervention Teams such as police, paramedics, Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Detox, providing follow up and necessary documentation once client leaves premises
  • Facilitate and implement the concept of care teams, establish and maintain a routine of communication between members of the team, and by troubleshooting communication challenges between counselors, case managers, front desk, program coordinators, work readiness supervisors and chaplains.
  • Provide support for intake at site to include trauma-informed practices
  • Provide daily supervision of classes, process groups and engagement opportunities. Ensure class coverage or cancellation in the event of facilitator absence
  • Provide interventions and contracting for individuals not easily fitting into facility expectations.
  • Coordinate efforts to communicate alerts notifying clients of information regarding steps towards homelessness resolution.
  • Engage in conversations with community partners regarding escalated cases and ensure documentation for participants being referred and the outcome of these referrals.
  • Develop case plan and record services provided to individuals through the SCRIBE and HMIS database, working with operations to develop processes and prompts within SCRIBE to facilitate proper recording.
  • Maintain the referral network needed to ensure participants with greater-level needs are referred to mental health providers that allows participant access beyond DRM engagement.

. Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree required in Social Work or Counseling. An associated license preferred: Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor or Licensed Addictions Counselor.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience providing counseling and/or case management or other related interaction with those experiencing homelessness.
  • Strong computer/database knowledge, preferably with HMIS. Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Documented experience with staff development and evaluation
  • Proven ability to maintain composure during stressful situations: must be trauma informed.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Clear communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Track-record of work with low-income, homeless and/or indigent individuals and families
  • Must be willing to work a variable schedule to include some nights and weekends in order to provide coverage for Associate Director of Shelter.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict with and between, subordinates, peers and superiors, expeditiously and respectfully.
  • Ability to be an approved driver by Denver Rescue Mission
