LVN/LPN Eating Disorder RTC – Bright Road Recovery – Claremont, CA

Bright Road Recovery is an innovative eating disorder treatment program with an outstanding treatment team.

We are seeking a licensed vocational nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide services in the Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Program, as well as for our Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Program and Outpatient levels of care. LVN/LPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team in supporting patient recovery alongside our physicians, psychiatric medication prescribers, therapists, dietitians, and other support staff.

Please note: ONLY LVN or LPN will be considered for interviews for this position.

LVN/LPN Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Reports to RN
  • Supports RN
  • Assist and support residents through treatment experience, admission through discharge
  • Communicate observations and insights to treatment team to ensure patients’ needs are being addressed comprehensively
  • Complete admission H&P for each patient
  • Develop/initiate the nursing care plan
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups
  • Provide consistent and complete patient documentation
  • Implement physician orders, report changes to program director & program manager
  • Available for consultation after hours, return telephone calls/pages within an agreed upon time frame
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Count/manage narcotics daily, log medications appropriately
  • Consult regularly with medical staff to discuss patient treatment
  • Provide assessment of medical problems as needed
  • Perform primary first aid, determining the need for physician notification
  • Consult with physician and psychiatrist to ensure appropriate medical/medication interventions
  • Daily assessment of each patient, administer all prescribed medications
  • Complete daily vitals for patients, including blind gown weights
  • Help facilitate emergency procedure drills for patients and staff
  • Engage in administrative responsibilities as they arise
  • Monitor patient intake/output as well as modify fluid intake
  • Understands the therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, strong adherence to professional ethics
  • Demonstrate leadership in contribution to program development
  • Communicate with patients and staff from all educational and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrating tact, initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude
  • Provide meal support and/or supplementation during supervised meals
  • Participate in case management and care coordination, including utilization reviews and treatment team meetings
  • Maintain appropriate and timely contact with referring professionals
  • Detailed and timely documentation, including admission assessment, weekly goal setting and treatment planning, session progress notes, discharge reporting/recommendations
  • Participate in a collaborative therapeutic and work environment

Physical Limitations:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • LVN or LPN Certification
  • Must be certified in the current state
  • Must have considerable knowledge of nursing principles and practice
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of medications and their proper application and use
  • Must be able to take vital signs and provide first aid
