Prevention Counselor II – Safe Children Coalition Inc – Bradenton, FL

SUMMARY

As a member of the Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ERAT), the ERAT Counselor (II) provides support to families and children in maintaining permanency by providing in-home services and assistance to ensure the child’s safety and welfare, health and well-being, while attempting to strengthen and preserve the child’s family.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulatory documents, contracts, policies, and case records. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from management, staff, clients, and outside agencies. Ability to effectively present information to children and families, management, employees, and outside agencies.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to anticipate needs and/or problems based on current events and/or situations and to develop solutions.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field and two (2) years of professional experience in the field of child welfare or social services


Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

This position requires the following credentials:

  • Valid state driver’s license in good standing;
  • Required vehicle insurance.
