Medical Business Systems Analyst – Physicians Group Services, PA – Jacksonville, FL

The Business Systems Analyst works closely with Informatics and other departments within the organization to understand technology and operational needs, support strategic initiatives, provide key insights, and instill operational excellence that maximize performance, productivity, and reporting. You will work on multiple projects and initiatives and will use data analysis and process development skills to assist with a wide variety of operational process improvement initiatives to identify key performance indicators and measure results and that will shape the behaviors of the organization. Primary focus will be reviewing systems, processes, and technologies to provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements, and serving as an ambassador and liaison between technical and business teams.

Job Duties Include:

  • Collects data and analyzes IT and Business operations to understand strengths and opportunities to improve, enhance, automate processes and functions, and reduce costs.
  • Conducts analysis with a focus on recommending solutions, such as use cases, business process flows, data flow diagrams, etc. Prepares charts and diagrams to visualize and assist in problem analysis.
  • Gathers requirements from IT and business users and provides guidance on options that can be utilized to answer specific questions.
  • Proactively searches for process improvement opportunities and technologies to meet company goals.
  • Develops and/or updates documentation of projects and system or process changes and provides feedback to all parties in a timely manner. Assists in process design and documentation as needed for new technology and processes.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of projects across multiple lines of business to ensure achievement of corporate objectives.
  • Obtains, captures, and validates needed information from stakeholders to form requirements through various analysis techniques.
  • Creates and validates technical specifications based on business user requirements for the creation of new reporting dashboards and processes.
  • Creates and presents data visualizations in various platforms such, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Intelligence tools, etc.
  • Constantly monitors and reports on progress of projects to all stakeholders. Effectively communicates relevant project information to business owners and management.
  • Presents complex technical concepts and information to users with varying degree of technical knowledge. Understand perception of others and tailor the message for the audience to build credibility and rapport.

Education/ Experience

  • Highly knowledgeable of healthcare industry or a related function.
  • Experienced building reports, analyzing results, and communicating findings across groups.
  • Proficient in system data flows, workflows, testing skills (test cases, expected results, user acceptance testing, and test execution), release and change management skills (production readiness, operating procedures development).
  • Requires solid Excel skills.
  • Possess excellent process mapping and optimization techniques.
  • Proficient in Process Design and Process Analysis.
  • Skilled at facilitating meetings, preparing, and presenting content.
  • Extensive experience in creating clear oral and written communications.
  • Strong problem solving and alternatives analysis skills.
  • Six Sigma Training and/or Certification a plus.
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • 3+ years of current experience as a technical business systems analyst.
  • Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology, healthcare related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by healthcare or computer related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • Experience in Health Informatics or a degree in Health Informatics a plus.
