INTERVENTIONAL RAD TECH II – IRVINE CATH LAB/IR – Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian – Irvine, CA

The Interventional Radiology Technologist II works in collaboration with the technical supervisor and medical director to provide high-quality diagnostic special procedures and interventional studies. The technologist provides education to the patient/family about these procedures, as well as pre/post-procedure instructions as applicable. The technologist efficiently and accurately documents all procedures, patient-related events, and equipment issues. Call responsibility is required. Performs other duties as assigned.

All Interventional Radiology Technologists project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct and support the Radiology Department mission. They participate in the continuous quality improvement process while maintaining a working knowledge and following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation and quality control requirements, as well as specific regulatory requirements of Title 22, California Licensing & Certification of Health Facilities, and Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned that do not violate laws or regulations that require personnel with special licensure.

Education and Experience:

  • All departments: Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • For Interventional Radiology department only – three years continuous hospital experience in special procedures/interventional radiology or equivalent.
  • Performs all routine and advanced special procedure and interventional radiology exams. Completes two (2) units of mandatory stroke-specific training/education annually as required.
