The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in South Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.
Compensation: the minimum rate for this position is:
- BSN: $38.50 plus shift differentials. An applicant’s healthcare experience will be taken into consideration when calculating a final hourly rate.
- ADN: $36.50 plus shift differentials. An applicant’s healthcare experience will be taken into consideration when calculating a final hourly rate.
- $5,000 sign-on bonus for RNs hired in full-time and part-time positions
- Retention Program: RNs whose hourly rates are less than $50.00 are eligible for a $3.00 increase every six (6) months up to $50.00. RNs whose rates are $50.00 or greater receive a yearly merit increase, in addition to an annual $2,500 retention bonus.
Benefits:
- Student Loan Repayment: Employees who have earned an undergraduate or graduate nursing degree within the last two (2) years are eligible to be paid up to $250.00 at the end of each month for which they have demonstrated outstanding student loans.
- Education Reimbursement: Financial assistance up to $5,250/year is provided to employees for courses or programs to enhance their potential for advancement or maintain their current certification/licensure.
- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, and 401K plans available to both full-time and part-time employees. Benefits become effective on the 31st day of employment.
Schedule:
- Full-time: 5-days (40-hours) per week
- Part-time: 3-days (24-hours) per week
- Per-diem
Shift Openings:
- AM Shift: 0700-1530
- PM Shift: 1500-2330
- NOC Shift: 2300-0730
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Associates Degrees accepted, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. New grads welcome!
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Valid driver’s license preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital’s designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
