Registration Representative – UM St. Joseph Medical Center – Towson, MD

What You Will Do:

The Registration Representative facilitates an efficient and professional registration process through the attainment of demographic and financial information, via face-to-face registration, that is pertinent to appropriate reimbursement and statistical analysis. This position will require registration in multiple systems as well as familiarity with financial and authorization requirements for both hospital and physician fee billing. Schedules Checkout patients and schedule follow-up tests and appointments as necessary. Communicates appropriately with the medical center staff, physicians, physician offices, community members, families, and community agencies.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Vocational / Technical Degree: Business or Secretarial Coursework (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration
Not Applicable – No Certification and Licensure Requirements required or preferred

Experience and Skills

  • 0 – 1 year Knowledge of physician office/clinical care center routines and a basic understanding of the organization, procedures and terminology. (Required)

2 – 4 years Knowledge of physician office billing, charge entry, billing programs, procedures and terminology preferred. (Preferred)
