Assistant Professor – OBGYN Psychiatrist for Menopause Center
Location: TCH Pavilion for Women

Responsibilities will be assigned by the Medical Director of the TCH’s Women’s Health Center, in the Department of OB/GYN.

The Women’s Health Center encompasses two clinics: The Women’s Place provides mental health consultation and treatment during reproductive events and The Menopause Center provides mental health consultation and treatment during the menopausal transition.

Candidate is responsible for applying the knowledge, skills, and perspective of clinical psychiatry to the services provided at The Texas Children’s Women’s Health Center including, but not limited to, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, consultation, education, training, supervision, research, and administration. Candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and management of assigned patients. This includes coordinating and monitoring utilization management, planning and coordinating the transition of patients through the continuum of care, and maintaining appropriate communication with required agencies and individuals throughout treatment. Both clinics coordinate care with other clinical specialties including general OB/GYN, Gynecologists specializing in the treatment of Menopause, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Fetal Surgery, Reproductive-Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology, and Minimally-Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

There will also be an expectation to participate in research projects as needed. Faculty is expected to participate in the educational mission of the College. Candidates must agree to discharge their duties and responsibilities faithfully, to abide by all rules, regulations, and policies, and to devote to the performance of your duties and responsibilities the amount of time and effort for which you are employed by the College.

Must have an M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry, board-certified or board-eligible for certification by ABPN, and a minimum of two (2) years of post-residency work experience in a related area of specialty.

Preferred: current license to practice medicine in the State of Texas and must be able to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and possess knowledge of therapeutic modalities employed by team members and the assigned clinical program, and current CPR certification.
