Responsibilities Include:

  • To assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or Director of Nursing and to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
  • Maintain goals and objectives for quality resident care consistent with facility and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department.
  • Analyze and evaluate nursing care provided by nursing staff; Assure that standards of nursing practice are of the highest quality consistent with standard of professional practice and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, and company standards, recommending changes/improvements PRN.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications Include:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
  • Must possess a current license to practice as an LPN in MD.
  • Previous long-term care experience is desirable.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff.
