Physician Information and Interoperability Services Supervisor – Sutter Health – Sacramento, CA

Position Overview:

The PIIS Supervisor provides day-to-day oversight of respective team(s), as well as ensuring work productivity benchmarks are being achieved and maintained. The role requires facilitation of services to ensure that the Bay and Valley Area’s physician communities have the necessary support, tools and knowledge to leverage and use Sutter’s clinical information systems, such as the Electronic Health Record (EHR). In addition to management duties, the PIIS Supervisor will participate in goal / objective planning and prioritization of deliverables. At the direction of the PIIS Manager, the Supervisor will provide multi-affiliate support to physicians and clinicians during EHR and other clinical related technology upgrades and enhancement efforts.

The PIIS Supervisor will coach / mentor staff on process analysis, physician workflow, designs and documentation, as it impacts physicians’ use of Sutter’s acute EHR and other clinical information systems. The Supervisor will engage in Area-wide programs / initiatives, in collaboration with the Bay and/or Valley Area’s CHIO, physician informaticists, allied health practitioners and affiliate leaders.Under the guidance of the PIIS Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for establishing, revising and updating team policies and procedures and disseminating the information within the department and impacted stakeholders.

A critical competency of the Supervisor position is to build trust and develop collaborative working relationships with Bay and/or Valley Area stakeholders, since the position needs to be adept at engaging physicians in direct conversation, gathering feedback, and being supportive during stressful work situations.


Qualifications:


Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Required
  • Master’s Degree, Preferred


Experience Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of demonstrated professional experience and growing levels of responsibilities within an organization, preferably though not necessarily within a healthcare delivery organization, required
  • 3 – 5 years experience in successfully leading teams and implementing and supporting busniess and/or clinical information systems, that require coordination of resources, and planning/execution of activities, required
  • 3 – 5 years of strong problem and issue resolution experience, required
  • 3 years of experience in a physician and/or stakeholder relationship with management, preferred
  • 3 years of expeirence in team coaching / mentoring, as well as understanding of LEAN principals, preferred
  • 1 year of demonstrated knowledge of EHRs, preferable EPIC, preferred
  • 1 year of understanding budgets, preferred
