Clinical Social Worker – OB – Community Health Centers of Burlington – Burlington, VT

Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, the OB Clinical Social Worker will provide effective clinical and medical social work services to psychosocially high risk OB patients of the Community Health Centers of Burlington. The patient population served is predominately New Americans and/or BIPOC. The OB Clinical Social Worker will conduct psychosocial assessments, and provide: diagnosis, case management, crisis interventions, behavioral medicine interventions, brief behavioral health interventions, and psychotherapy.

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Masters in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Experience providing psychotherapy
Experience in a medical setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong case management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention skills
Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse laws and regulations
Ability to utilize cognitive-behavioral and dialectical interventions in support of OB patients
Understanding of mind-body and biopsychosocial implications of OB health
Strong written/verbal and organizational skills
Knowledge of the principles, standards, and ethics of Social Work and ability to demonstrate standards of care and ethics when working with client/patient populations
Knowledge of transference and countertransference
Willingness to work some flexible hours if needed
Experience with addictions counseling a plus
Experience with counseling children and adolescents a plus
