Personal Care Attendant – Houma, LA (Westside) – The Medical Team – Houma, LA

Our organization is seeking qualified Personal Care Attendants and Homemakers to care for our geriatric population in their homes on the West Side of Houma.

– We are looking for caring people to care for our geriatric population. We offer flexible scheduling with both part-time and full-time hours.

– All Visits happen between 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:

Tasks may include any or all of the following:

1. Personal Hygiene Care: help with bathing, shaving hair care, nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting and elimination.

2. Assistance with activities of daily living: help with eating; dressing and undressing; positioning and turning; ambulation; transfer to and from bed, chair, and toilet; and active range of motion exercises.

3. Monitoring vital signs: taking pulse, respiration, temperature, and blood pressure.

4. Performs only those duties that have been clearly assigned by the Supervisor in writing on the ISP (assignment sheet).

5. Assistance in maintaining a safe environment and providing a degree of emotional support as necessary for the client’s well-being.

6. Provide light housekeeping service (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathroom and kitchen surfaces, changed bed linen and light laundering).

7. Home Management – preparation and serving of light meals, grocery shopping, linen changes, laundry, light housekeeping as directed, stand-by assistance.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years or older.

– Must be legally able to work in the United States.

– Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation.

– Must have residential cleaning experience/patient care-giving experience.
