Front Office Associate Float (Avondale, Peoria, Surprise) – Arizona Asthma and Allergy Institute – Peoria, AZ

Here at Arizona Asthma & Allergy Institute, we are one of the leading Allergists in our field in Arizona. We are seeking to hire an experienced Medical Front Office Associate to help us keep growing. This is a full-time float position with a work schedule Mon., Wed., Friday 8 am-5 pm and Tues., Thurs. 9 am-6 pm. Based on operational need this person would float across assigned clinics for the west valley (Avondale, Peoria, and Surprise). Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for greeting and checking patients in for services, assuring a positive, friendly, and timely impression.
  • Request patients/patient representative sign-in.
  • Greet non-patients and assist them with their questions.
  • Notify Administrator, managers, and providers of non-patient visitors.
  • Assure patient insurance and demographic information is accurate and current.
  • Request patients/patient representative to complete any required paperwork per practice policies and procedures.
  • Pull patient charts prior to scheduled visits, and review for required information. Prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Ask for copies of insurance card and photo Ids and copy per practice policy and procedure.
  • Assist patients as needed with completion of required paperwork.
  • Assure waiting area is clean and well maintained.
  • Provide coverage for other front-office functions.
  • Assist with training staff
  • Responsible for checking patients out in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Collect co-payments and deductibles.
  • Record payments and provide patients with a receipt.
  • Schedule follow-up visits.
  • Answer/triage patient questions based on the type of questions and level of expertise required.
  • Input and balance daily charges per practice policy and procedures.
  • Back up to scheduling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years prior experience in a Medical Office Setting
  • Ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Solid understanding of the various types of Insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO)
  • Must be a self-starter with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour
