GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Assisted Living Manager, plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates

the direct and indirect care of a designated group of residents, within the framework of BCS policies.

Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulatory requirements in providing optimal care for each

resident.

ESSENTIALS OF JOB:

  • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the direct and indirect care of a designated group of residents, which includes (constantly): the evaluation of the residents’ needs consideration of the Nursing Practice Act evaluation of the quality of services provided
  • Accurately assesses residents within three (3) hours of admission and at regularly established intervals. (frequently)
  • Communicates with public/family members. (frequently)
  • Provides and/or supervises nursing care as appropriate for condition of resident. (constantly)
  • Teaches resident and family member as needed regarding care issues. (frequently)
  • Develops collaborative relationship with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. (frequently)
  • Functions as an advocate for the residents. (constantly)
  • Develops Service Plans and Comprehensive Assessments. (constantly)
  • Evaluates subordinates for merit appraisals, counseling subordinates as indicated. (frequently)
  • Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)

Contributes to the ongoing process of establishing and meeting departmental and BCS goals and

objectives. Participates in utilizing customer feedback to measure and improve effectiveness of service level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: That required for licensure in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, including any annual CEUs or other requirements for license renewal. Prior experience in a charge position. Must be able to read, speak, and write English. Must be CPR certified.
