Perinatal Quality RN Specialist – Clinical Education – Swedish Health Services – Seattle, WA

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Quality RN Specialist – Surgery (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in Clinical Education at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, Washington.

The Quality RN Specialist works in partnership with executive leadership and clinical education and practice to provide nursing leadership and support for developing and implementing Perinatal Services clinical programs and quality and safety initiatives and collaborating across the Swedish and Providence networks. Provides leadership for interdisciplinary groups in developing and implementing quality care initiatives that result in improved care and outcomes. Supports CNS team in implementing and executing on policy and procedure changes. Facilitates integration of national healthcare guidelines, regulatory requirements, best practice changes in healthcare and evidence-based practice changes within the Swedish and Providence networks that improve patient care delivery. Leads teams to implement new clinical programs and initiatives within the network of perinatal services including Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, OB ED & Triage, Postpartum, scheduled and nonscheduled operative procedures. Collaboratively works with other clinical leaders and stakeholders, such as Perinatal CNS and educators, to ensure that programs meet or exceed national standards. Works closely with Swedish OB and Perinatal QI Leadership, Perinatal Clinical Managers, Swedish Quality and Patient Safety Leadership staff and other Swedish leaders to ensure activities are prioritized, coordinated, supported and goals are achieved.

In this position you will:

  • Lead and participate in Perioperative Services clinical program and quality efforts to promote clinical safety, standardization and evidence based practices within Perioperative Services, and collaborates across the Swedish and Providence networks.
  • Lead activities to integrate pertinent evidence and national initiatives into the development of patient care processes and procedures that assure the highest quality and value in patient care.
  • Lead and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and develop strategies, metrics and processes to improve quality of care and safety. Ensures that timelines and key deliverables of the implementation plans are achieved.
  • Facilitate integration of system and network strategies and resources to assure highest quality patient experience and satisfaction with clinical programs
  • Work with the teams to identify and track key performance measures and works with Clinical Quality staff to ensure measures are tracked and reported to key stakeholders

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Five (5) years current clinical leadership experience in a health care system that services specialty and general patient populations
  • Experience leading and managing projects and program development
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Washington
  • A valid Washington State driver’s license and an insurable driving record
  • Possession of the minimum (or greater) auto insurance coverage as mandated by the state of Washington

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Can demonstrate an advanced level of professional competence in nursing practice and clinical quality initiatives, EMR, auditing, and analytic skills
