Medical Assistant (RMA or CCMA) – Columbia University Fertility Center – New York, NY

A very exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Medical Assistant to join the Columbia University Medical Center!

This is your opportunity to join our growing fast paced practice and perform a variety of clinical and clerical functions to assist the clinical staff in providing the best patient care. Our Medical Assistants are a vital part of our center and work closely physicians to provide compassionate care and help patients through their evaluations and treatments. This includes communicating care rendered, providing assistance to physician and clinical staff, maintaining stock, and maintaining environment in a clean and orderly manner.

The Medical Assistant will do the following:

1. Chaperone and assist the provider in the exam room.
2. Perform phlebotomy and prepare blood work in a timely manner.
3. Document and file all lab results in patient charts.
4. Ensure that the patient chart is up-to-date including Checklist and Consent Forms.
5. Relay information to patients per physician instructions.
6. Order medical supplies and ensure that patient care areas are stocked.
7. Maintain and clean all exam rooms between patients and at the end of the shift.
8. Ensure all equipment/utensils/instruments are cleaned and sterilized after use on a daily basis.
11. Set up and break down procedure rooms.
12. Assist physician with procedures
13. Assist the Nurse Manager with administrative duties.
14. Conform to applicable HIPAA, billing compliance, Quality Assurance and safety guidelines.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

This is a temp to perm position. FT and PT options available. Permanent position includes full competitive benefits package.

FT Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating weekend/holiday coverage

*Please note*: Valid CCMA or RMA certification is required.
