JOB TITLE: Laborer
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Metalico Niagara Falls (2133 Maple Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14305)
HOURS: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load and unload scrap metal materials
- Clean and prepare job site in a tidy and safe manner
- Use a variety of tools and machines: blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment
- Sort and process scrap metal according to grade and size
- Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers and customers clearly and respectfully
- Must be able to work assigned schedule
- Must be able to perform a variety of tasks in all kinds of weather/seasons
- Required to wear proper PPE (steel toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses)
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School degree or equivalent preferred
- Able to operate bobcats, forklifts, loaders a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
- Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals a plus
- Quick learner who can follow directions
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work
- Prior to hire- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and criminal background check
