Job Title: Genetic Counselor
Myriad Genetic Laboratories has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Genetic Counselors on the Patient Education Team. We are large group of clinicians who provide education to thousands of patients annually. We are expanding to increase patient access to our services on Saturdays. This is a part-time (20 hours) non-benefited work from home position that requires minimal travel.
Responsibilities
:
Phone-based patient education including hereditary cancer testing, carrier screening, and non-invasive prenatal testing
Application for and maintenance of licensure in all required states
Potential for involvement with team and corporate projects, which can include publications, content creation/revision, inter-department working groups, mentoring, etc.

Qualifications:
6 hours of availability on Saturdays (between 8am-4pm EDT preferred)
14 additional hours of availability M-F weekly (between 8am-4pm EDT preferred)
Board certified
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Comfortable working with computers. Preferable to have experience with Windows/Office365, and demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot and independently solve home network issues
A dedicated, HIPAA compliant space with high-speed internet access
Proficiency in Spanish is a benefit
Physical and Mental Requirements of the job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to listen and communicate verbally and in writing with patients pre- and post-test for patient education regarding aspects of commercial Myriad One products. Genetic Counselors must be able to complete administrative work and documentation of patient/provider interactions on a variety of software applications and databases with or without a reasonable accommodation.
