The ideal candidate should have

· Work experience as an Ophthalmic Technician

· Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience

· Excellent communication skills

· Interest in Population Health

Responsibilities

The Ophthalmic Technician will assist the physician with daily patient care, communication, and workflow. Specifics tasks include but are not limited to taking patient histories, administering tests, scribing, and performing a variety of clinical and patient services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification as COA, COT, or CMOT. (Required within 12 months of hire) preferred
  • One to two years’ experience in an eye care environment
  • Prior experience with ophthalmic testing and scribing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, organization ability, time management and the ability to effectively prioritize work
  • Proficiency with computer use, especially an electronic medical record
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to ophthalmology
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high customer volume work environment preferred

Medical Office Hours of Operation

  • Monday 8am-8pm
  • Tueesday – Wednesday 8am-6pm
  • Thursday 8am-8pm
  • Friday 8am-5pm
  • Saturday 8am-1pm
