K-3 OUTDOOR EDUCATOR
We are searching for the Keepers, the Masters of lost trade and forgotten skills who have long been found only in tucked-away shops and hidden places. We are looking for someone who has worked tirelessly to keep the magic and history of their trade alive and would be willing to share their wisdom and extraordinary talent with the students of The Guardians Academy.
At The Guardians Academy, our mission is to create an immersive environment that will foster future guardians of the land and navigators of an extraordinary world that needs to exist. We are a community that remembers and fights to reignite a fading, but deep, knowledge of old-world skills and artisan trade. We will re-introduce the long-forgotten foundations of core values and ethics by building a strong moral compass and creating future masters of trade, thereby ensuring the survival of this forgotten knowledge for generations to come.
The Guardians Academy is a skills-based trade & outdoor education PK-12 full-time school and summer camp.
OUR IDEAL EDUCATOR HAS:
- Full command of the knowledge and experience required to teach all aspects of Kindergarten through 3rd grade, including practical hands on history, science and mathematics.
- Experience teaching all ages
- The ability to relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah (if necessary)
- A talent for engaging and motivating youth
- The ability to develop a curriculum to encompass skills at varying levels of experience.
- The ability to pivot on a dime both physically and mentally as the nature of our work is ever-changing and constantly evolving.
- Personality for days and the ability to get along with a diverse group of individuals
EXPECTATIONS:
This is a year-round (12 month)/full-time position.
All applicants must be willing to submit to a background check and fingerprinting.
All employees are required to wear a uniform and carry an academy issued radio, badge and medical kit at all times
In addition to a background check and fingerprinting, all employees are required to complete WFA (Wilderness First Aid) Youth and Child Protection Training and Love and Logic training.
Daily communication/daily summaries with parents of your students is required.
5 paid days off begin after 4 months of employment
Pay is salaried
All employees are subject to a probationary period of 120 days with an evaluation and check in, at minimum, every 30 days

*The Guardians Academy is hiring for both the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 school year. Any necessary relocation must occur by opening day at your respective campus.
