Compensation: Monthly Salary $8602 – $11827

Designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Provides the necessary documentation. Works with databases, APIs, servers, networks and various programming languages. Mentors those in less senior positions. Provide leadership and initiative in a team environment. Ensures application of systems thinking principles allowing team members to independently design, code, test, and deploy software. Provide the necessary documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle. Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging a diverse range of technology. Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes to support the launch of new business capabilities. Lead the resolution of complex problems. Mentor development of those in less senior positions.

Job Specific Information:

  • Experienced software developer with experience in leading 12-Factor application and Cloud platform implementation
  • As an advisor, this position is focused on providing technical leadership for a scrum team
  • Candidate will lead and oversee the development of software systems and work under the guidance of senior architects
  • Provide technical guidance and execute on architectural patterns in collaboration with senior architects to application developers, participate in refinement sessions, and apply software design fundamentals to the chosen technology platform
  • Mentor and cross train others on the team
  • Effectively work across geographically disperse locations and be comfortable in a ‘remote’ work environment


Skills Considered a Plus:

  • Formal systems development lifecycle experience.
  • Object Oriented Design and Development experience
  • Understand software design patterns
  • 3+ years experience in Kafka application development and/or cluster administration (Confluent Kafka a plus)
  • Senior level experience in Java 8 (or higher) with the ability to mentor team members
  • Application testing methodologies
  • Experience leading a team of developers across multiple time zones
  • Experience in Maven and/or Gradle build frameworks
  • CI/CD concepts and tooling such as Jenkins, Nexus, versioning
  • Senior level SQL
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies
  • Working knowledge and experience developing large scale software systems
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Apache Beam
  • Google Cloud Platform Technologies; BigQuery, Dataflow, PubSub, Cloud Functions
  • Containerization such as Kubernetes
  • J2EE experience, Python, Node.JS, Javascript, Javascript UI libraries such as Angular/React
  • UNIX/Linux; Scripting
  • Integration technologies such as JMS and REST
  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Oracle database
  • Working experience in engineering, Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices
  • Experience in building real-time interfaces between heterogeneous systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Four (4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
