WISe Youth Partner – Seneca Family of Agencies – Tacoma, WA

Overview:

The Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) program provides comprehensive behavior health supports to youth with complex behavioral and mental health needs. The goal of the program is to help youth thrive in their homes and communities, and assist in helping them meet the goals they have identified. The WISe Youth Partner is responsible for the engagement of, youth, young adults and/or families in a community, home, or school setting. The primary role is to provide hope, one-on-one support, and mentorship to participants by sharing experience with recovery/resilience and expertise in navigating systems and programs (e.g., Seneca Wraparound services, Educational Systems, Juvenile Justice Systems, Child Welfare System, etc.). The WISe Youth Partner utilizes their own experiences as a past consumer of mental health services, to deliver direct supportive services to youth referred to or receiving wraparound services.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage youth in the wraparound process by provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the WISe Program.
  • Assist in the development of the individualized Cross System Care Plan (CSCP).
  • Meet with youth on a regular basis to provide support in addressing needs and goals.
  • Act as a bridge between the youth and family and system representatives on the team, ensure youth voice is heard.
  • Utilize the Child and Adolescents Needs and Strengths Assessment to inform client and family strengths and strengths to build.
  • Provide one-on-one support in community setting.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience and thoughtful negotiation skills in resolving conflicts and integrating differing perspectives.
  • Work in coordination with primary caregiver, Seneca staff, and other supports identified by the client participate in all functions of the Child and Family Team, including planning. meetings, assisting in designing treatment plans, assist in writing quarterly reports, and other casework duties as needed.
  • Identify relevant community resources and linking participants/families to those resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Lived experience addressing a behavioral health diagnosis required
  • Personal experience with relevant systems (i.e. Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, Special Education, etc.)
  • Experience or interest in working with youth and families
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work as a team player and with a diverse population
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements
  • Own vehicle; Valid Washington Drivers License and insurability by Seneca’s automobile insurance carrier
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and at least one weekend day per week
  • Positions available in Pierce County and King Conty; travel may be required
