EXTRA-CURRICULAR
JOB TITLE: Mentor Nurse (Crandall-Crawford)
LOCATION: Anna Jarvis Elementary School
EMPLOYMENT TERM: As-needed.
SALARY: Stipend– $600.00 (Pro-Rated for rest of days needed)
FUNDING SOURCE: Teacher Leader Induction
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2021-2022 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid WV certification required in Nursing.
2. Minimum of five (5) years experience
3. Satisfactory past evaluations or recommendation of principal
5. Knowledge/ability as exhibited through school experiences in the following areas:
A. Arranging and providing training for personnel who will work with students who have special health care needs.
B. Setting up specialized health care procedures and provide appropriate supervision for health care needs
C. Providing general health appraisals and referrals for health concerns for students
D. Providing emergency first aid when available
E. Maintaining health records of students
F. Counseling parents and students on good health practices
JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide emotional and professional support to beginning school teacher per West Virginia State Board Policy 5900 and Taylor County Policy.
- Observe/evaluate Nurse as needed
- Provide feedback monthly to candidate
