Program Manager – The Bowen Group – Alexandria, VA

The Bowen Group, a values-led, industry leader in telehealth, health communications, and wellness services and staffing, has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Manager to join our team supporting the Department of Defense Suicide Prevention Office in Program and Policy.

This is a full-time position located in Alexandria, VA.

CORE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage corporate contractual administrative duties in accordance with federal guidelines, to include personnel recruitment and actions, timekeeping and task management, projection and execution and quality control.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and oversees projects.
  • Enforce policies, manage daily operations and oversee contract execution and program operations.
  • Ensure all requested deliverables are within contract scope.
  • Provide customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing for all meetings and contract requirements and ensures appropriate training for all contract team members.
  • Directly supervise and coordinate program activities.
  • Oversee the performance status of the overall team and individual team members’ level of proficiency. Offering guidance and tracking the progress of the professional development of each team member.
  • Review project deliverables for quality and timeliness, ensuring all products meet all requirements in terms of content, quality and schedule.
  • Work as a strategic member of a corporate management team with proven ability to achieve individual, team, and corporate goals.
  • Coach employees, deliver feedback, set goals, and provide performance evaluation.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business information, technical procedures, and operational statistics.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Generate solutions to issues or complex problems.
  • Perform personnel recruitment and actions, timekeeping and task management, projection and execution, quality control, and reports.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Work Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Management or Behavior Health and Social Sciences.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years program management experience areas.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) suicide prevention and other mental health policies and initiatives, Military Affiliation, PMP Certification.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Experience working in the government contracting environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and display positive interactions with members of the team and other government agencies.
  • Familiarity with Office of the Secretary of Defense and Department of Defense writing styles as contained in DoD Manual 5110.04-M, Volume 1, DoD Manual for Written Material: Correspondence Management and DoD 5110.04-M, Volume 2, DoD Manual for Written Material
  • Proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating as a Program or Project
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work independently
