A Skilled Nursing Facilities in Mission Hills, CA is looking for dedicated Occupational Therapists to join their team for a 13-week assignment with the possibility to extend.
Job Description
- Facilitates development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy
- Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities
- Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual’ s physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest
- Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment and recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs
- To supervise and direct the Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) in the implementation of treatment plans
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Develop home programs and instruct patients, family members, and caregivers in how to use them to continue rehabilitation after discharge
- 13 week assignment
- Submit all billing logs and necessary information on a timely basis
