Curriculum User Researcher – Edpuzzle – Remote

We’re looking for a Curriculum User Researcher to serve as the main point of contact between our Curriculum Team and the millions of K-12 teachers and students who engage with our curriculum products. The ideal candidate will combine deep curiosity about and empathy for the user with rigorous knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. By generating and communicating insights, you will play a key role in prioritizing current and future curriculum development.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify research needs in collaboration with stakeholders from the curriculum, product, and marketing teams.
  • Design comprehensive research plans (generative and evaluative) using appropriate research methods.
  • Own the entire research process from start to finish, including: defining research questions, recruiting participants, scheduling, developing interview protocols and facilitator guides, distributing surveys, synthesizing data, and communicating findings.
  • Translate user research into actionable insights that will help improve current curriculum products, prioritize the curriculum development roadmap, and identify future curriculum projects.
  • Communicate clearly via written reports and presentations; deliverables may include user personas and journey maps.
  • Compile resources and best practices to advance our user research program.
  • Act as a thought partner and mentor to members of the curriculum team by facilitating discussions, trainings, and workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Exceptional understanding of principles of user research and familiarity with a broad range of research methodologies.
  • Highly autonomous with strong project management skills and a proven ability to shepherd projects within tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and memorably.
  • Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, etc.) a plus.
  • Proficient with Google Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience practicing user research.
  • Degree in social science, design research, anthropology, psychology, or related field (may substitute relevant industry experience).

Preferred

  • Familiarity with K-12 education, educational technology, and/or education research.
  • Experience conducting research with children.
