Become part of a dynamic aerospace company. Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is currently looking for a Sr. Accountant for its operations center in Butner, NC. Ontic and its affiliate Firstmark Aerospace Corp are engaged primarily in electro-mechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.
Both Ontic and Firstmark have a long history in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the compilation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements, general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation
- Provides commentary, variance analysis explanations, and ad hoc reports (MD&A) ensuring financial results are reported and understood
- Analyzes manufacturing and budget variances
- Performs financial and inventory analysis
- Responsible for standard cost maintenance / oversees inventory cost accounting
- Maintains fixed asset schedules detailing cost, depreciation, accumulated depreciation, and tracks fixed asset additions and disposals
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly
- Assists with quarterly Sales & Use tax reporting
- Monitors / Reconciles Physical inventories
- Ensures compliance with IFRS
- Back-up support to Controller
Job requirements:
Minimum educational and work experience requirements for the successful candidate will include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required or Associates degree with proven work experience
- Five (5) years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient knowledge of Excel
- ERP systems knowledge
- Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent time management skills, strong sense of urgency
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Team player
