MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION,

CAAHEP
accredited Surgical Assistant graduate.
2.
Certified
Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technician.
3.
BLS
certified within 30 days of hire.
4.
NBSTSA
Certified Surgical Technician.
EXPERIENCE:
1.
3
years as a Surgical Technician.

CORE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The

Perform
the duties of a Certified Surgical Technician II.
2.
Assist
in patient positioning.
3.
Placement
of pneumatic tourniquet.
4.
Urinary
catheter placement.
5.
Assists
with holding or manipulation of surgical instruments intraoperatively as
directed by the surgeon.
6.
Prepping
of the surgical site including draping patient with surgeons guidelines.
7.
Maintains
hemostasis by any manner to include but not limited to clamping, cauterizing
or ligating as directed by surgeon.
8.
Provide
retraction and manipulation of tissue and organs with regard to tissue type
and appropriate technique as directed by the surgeon.
9.
Assist
in placement and suturing of surgical drains.
10.
Closure
of any and all layers of wounds as per surgeons directive.
11.
Assist
with all procedures under direction of the surgeon.
12.
Maintain
integrity of sterile field.
13.
Other
duties as defined and within scope of practice, skill set and level of
competence.
PHYSICAL
