Community Integration Specialist (Part Time) – Vesta, Inc – Lanham, MD

Vesta, Inc. is a not for profit, financially sound, mental health company which is expanding throughout the Maryland area. Vesta provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare to include clinic, day program, and residential homes for those suffering from mental health disorders as well as transitional housing for homeless veterans.

Vesta, Inc. is currently in search of a compassionate individual who have a passion for working with consumers who have been diagnosed with severe mental illness to work in our Lanham Region Residential Program. The individual would be assisting with coordination of client care and daily activities such as meal preparation, household chores, grooming, extra-curricular activities, medication monitoring and general oversight of consumers in the residential homes. This position would be working in group homes with adult clients who have a variety of diagnosis and behavioral disorders.

We are currently have one part-time position to which the hours are Monday – Saturday 5pm – 7pm

Pay is $16.83-$18.85/hr based on education level and experience.

Requirements:

• Caring, self-directed individuals who also take direction and feedback well.
• Facilitating groups
• Self-motivation and ability to coordinate activities
• Ability to re-direct and de-escalate individuals
• Experience providing skills training
• Ability to drive a 15 passenger vans daily and possess and maintain, throughout employment, a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to enter information electronically and have a basic comfort with computers.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening such as background check, drug testing, and reference verification

The ideal candidate would be a compassionate individual with an understanding of the mentally ill and the ability to work individually and as a team member. This candidate must able to communicate in a positive, professional manor, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Service field preferred but not required.
