Damar is proud to be partnering with the Indiana NeuroDiagnostic Institute (located on the East side, close to downtown, Indianapolis) to provide specialized autism services and is seeking Direct Support Professionals to perform a variety of tasks related to the care of autistic adolescent clients served by Damar.


Available Schedules:

Day Shift: 7:00a-7:30p, weekly rotating schedule

Night Shift: 7:00p-7:30a, weekly rotating schedule

  • Participating in evaluations and assessments of client needs
  • Effectively responding to and managing crisis situations
  • Consistently implementing behavior management plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors
  • Promoting and assisting with the development of daily living, self-help and social skills
  • Assisting in maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Conducting and supervising recreational and life enrichment activities
  • Complete required documentation daily, in a professional manner

Qualifications:


What you need to be considered…


  • Be at least 18 to work in our Community Living and Support Services program and at least 21 to work in our Children’s Residential program
  • Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar Services’ background screening
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal offenses
  • Although not required, a bacehlor’s degree and experience with ABA and/or working with clients on the autism spectrum is a plus

Physical
: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.


Hearing
: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
