This entry-level Community Supported Living Associate / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In-Home Caregiver position starts at a competitive wage of $10.40/hr with a $1.50/hr shift differential for weekend shifts. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A COMMUNITY SUPPORTED LIVING ASSOCIATE / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / IN-HOME CAREGIVER

As an entry-level full-time or part-time Community Supported Living Associate / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In-Home Caregiver, you get to facilitate individuals with disabilities and seniors to live with independence and dignity in the community. In keeping with our mission, we support our disabled and senior clients in living in their own homes whenever possible. Studies have shown that those who live at home and retain their independence are happier, healthier, and tend to live longer. And, you feel great about facilitating this for those you serve!

You do more than just assist with medications, meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support your clients in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies. You help them stay healthy in all areas by making sure that they are mentally stimulated, socially connected, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging their independence as much as possible.

You also ensure that their homes are safe environments, reducing the likelihood of accidents and promoting a timely response to illness as you monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. You are meticulous about documenting your shifts and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. As an advocate for people with disabilities and vulnerable seniors, you also watch out for abuse and neglect, ensuring that their personal rights are respected. It’s a good thing that you are so dependable, as their health and safety depend on you showing up on time and with a positive attitude for each and every shift.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMUNITY SUPPORTED LIVING ASSOCIATE / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / IN-HOME CAREGIVER


  • At least 18 years of age
  • Negative TB skin test (provided by Aptiv)
  • Ability to pass a background test
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Reliable transportation with valid registration and up-to-date auto insurance

FLEXIBLE FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME WORK SCHEDULE

This is a great full-time or part-time job with various schedules available according to the needs of each individual client. Services are offered 7 days a week. Most shifts are during the daytime or evening, with some later evening shifts available. We also have an on-call phone to provide support on an as-needed basis in addition to scheduled services.
