Our nephrology practice has an opening for a FRONT AND BACK OFFICE Medical Assistant. Our ideal candidate will have completed schooling for Medical Assisting, have knowledge in the medical field, and is familiar with basic medical terminology and lab blood draw. Being a small office, attendance and flexibility is very important. Our position requires multitasking, excellent computer skills, a team player, and a fast learner. Must be willing and able to greet all patients friendly and with a smile and have good phone etiquette.
Office hours vary between 9:00 and 3:00, open for Tuesdays and Thursdays initially, with plans to extend to Monday through Thursday. Must be willing to work every week. BILINGUAL IN English and Spanish is a Plus. Please do not call us regarding this position, we shall respond to your interest.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * FRONT and BACK office duties (But mainly front office/reception) * Urine analysis, Venipuncture/Blood Draw, Lab Specimen Prep on occasion * Appointment & Test Scheduling * Answering Phones / Telecommunications * Taking and Responding to Patient Messages * Patient Scheduling * Medication Review and Refill Request * Flexibility * Check in, Vitals, patient rooming, Check out.

Salary: $15.00/hr for initial 6 months, then $16.00 /hr
Basic Qualifications: * Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program. * Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within 30 days of employment. * Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills (assessment required for external candidates). * Demonstrated communication (written and oral) skills. * Demonstrated literacy in using computers and keyboarding. * Skills in problem-solving, setting priorities and using good judgment for decisions. * Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications: * One (1) to two (2) plus years in a medical assistant position to assigned department’s clinical area within an ambulatory care setting preferred. * Demonstrated clinical knowledge and procedural skills and/or documented training in nephrology within the last one (1) to three (3) years is a plus. * Current National Medical Assistant Certification preferred. Familiarity in documenting in an electronic medical record system preferred. Use of ECLINICALWORKS EMR a Plus.
