Veterinary Assistant – Latah Creek Animal Hospital – Spokane, WA

About us

Latah Creek Animal Hospital has been a locally owned and operated business for over 20 years, first by Dr. Steve Bauer then by Dr. Megan Bauer, who began working here after graduating from WSU (Go Cougs!) in 2015.

As we look to the future, we have some exciting changes and initiatives that we are working on to make Latah Creek Animal Hospital a leader among local veterinary practices: our unique ownership structure, the strength of our team, and our commitment to fear-free practices. Our first big change, at the beginning of 2021, was to expand and restructure our ownership team. Latah Creek Animal Hospital will remain a locally owned small business but with more diverse ownership. Dr. Megan is still our beloved veterinarian and owner, and her new business partner is Jessica Osborne. Jessica is Spokane’s first Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and a Certified Veterinary Business Leader. She joins the team with 18 years of experience in the veterinary field.

Dr. Megan and Jessica believe that this ownership design is an ideal model that should be the gold standard for running a veterinary hospital, as it allows the ownership team to understand all aspects of running a small business, providing gold standard medical care to our patients, and maintaining a healthy team culture. Bringing both of their different fields of expertise together allows for better decision making, a stronger team culture, and better patient care.

Latah Creek Animal Hospital is a growing, companion animal hospital located in the beautiful Latah Creek area of Spokane, Washington. We have our sites set on building a new facility in the next year. That being said, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time veterinary assistant to join our team centered culture with many opportunities for growth.

Our new team member will enjoy building relationships with our clients and patients, assisting in providing great medical care to our patients along side Dr. Megan, and practicing in a Free Fear setting where we are committed to lowering stress levels in all the patients we treat.

We are asking that you have a minimum of 1 year experience in the veterinary field with specific experience in exam rooms, restraint, monitoring during surgery, and performing dental prophies.

If you are new to the area, you and your family can enjoy many events in Spokane such as Bloomsday and Hoopfest, along with our very own Gonzaga Bulldogs. The area also offers recreational and cultural opportunities such as music, museums, skiing, hiking, and a vast food and pub scene!
