Responsibilities

  • Provide routine care and care-giving activities
  • Help Lead Teachers perform their responsibilities
  • Be willing to clean, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wash floors, furniture, fixtures, and toys as necessary
  • Create a safe, healthy and welcoming learning environment consistent with health and safety standards
  • Effectively communicate with parents daily
  • Supervise classroom activities in a patient, thorough, and thoughtful manner
  • Ensure full compliance with RiseNShine Preschool curricula, as well as State Early Childcare Standards
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws and administrative regulations
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Continually develop skills by attending at least 18 hours of job-related training annually

Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of experience in a licensed preschool; 1 year or more preferred
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a High school diploma or GED; Higher Education such as a CDA (Child Development Associates) is preferred
  • Pass a criminal background check as well as random drug testing
  • Hold a valid fingerprint card and meet State medical standards
  • Be First Aid and CPR certified
  • Be TB tested and show negative results
  • A love for children and an ardent desire to make a difference every day
  • Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 30 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to create a positive environment conducive to learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.15 – $14.00 per hour
