We are a 5-star Family General Dentistry Practice seeking a part time dental assistant to join our exciting team. Our office provides excellent quality patient care in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our Richmond office is growing, and we are seeking someone who is confident, clinically experienced, demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic and takes initiative to ensure every patient’s visit is a 5-star visit. We offer competitive compensation along with flexible hours.

Please note: We are following all ADA, CDC and OSHA guidelines surrounding COVID-19. We provide, N95, KN95, P100 respirators and level 3 makes. Face shields, hair bonnets and fluid resistant gowns are also provided. We have a washer and dryer in office. Medical grade air purifiers are in each operatory. Optim 1 used to disinfect equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the doctor with all dental procedures including but not limited to, take directions from doctor, anticipate doctor’s needs, performing patient oral evaluations, take high-quality X-rays and intra oral photos.
  • Perform efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain doctor’s schedule and patient flow; create “no patient wait time;” maintain time flexibility for patient; be present, engaged, ready to work at all assigned shift times.
  • Review patient chart prior to doctor arrival and record appropriate patient data during exam and treatment as well as transcribe doctor notes in patient chart.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Follow OSHA and company safety policies and procedures
  • Promote and market the company’s services, retail products and doctors to patients as well as educate patients and address their questions and/or concerns
  • Verify patient health history (basic health review, medications, understanding impact with dentistry) and document appropriately in patient’s chart.
  • Complete checklists as assigned.
  • Clean and prepare operatory per office procedures prior to patient appointment
  • Sterilize equipment and operatories per OSHA guidelines
  • Assist staff in scheduling patients’ follow up visits
  • Assist with cleaning of front office areas as needed.
  • Follow up with labs to ensure quality and timely products
  • Track incoming and outgoing lab cases with staff
  • Assist hygienist(s) as requested
  • Monitor level of dental supplies and order as assigned by dr.
  • Other duties apply.

Qualifications

  • At least two years experience
  • Current radiography certification
  • Dental Assistant certification as required by state
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training as required by law
  • Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation preferred
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
