We are seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to joint our Obstetrics unit in our Ontario, Oregon hospital!
As a nurse with Saint Alphonsus, you will provide compassionate and competent nursing care in collaboration with other members of the health care team in the ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families. You will be expected to utilize resources wisely while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being, while maintaining accurate and complete documentation of nursing services.
In addition to providing hands-on nursing care, you will work and serve in a broad range of capacities including delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, teaching the patient and their family, while serving as a patient advocate.
About This Position:
Nurses in this position support OB triage, labor and delivery patients, transition newborns, and couplet care (mother/baby). Our team is strong and dedicated, with most nurses having worked here over 15 years!
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have an active RN license issued by the state of Oregon prior to hire date.

Must provide RN license in the state of Idaho (or proof of application in process) within six months of hire.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS

ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire

Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification required within 12 months of hire

Communicates patient’s current status and plan of care to other caregivers (verbally and in writing).

Prepares, gives and evaluates the effectiveness of medications.

Demonstrates safe operation of patient care equipment.

Advocates for the rights of patients.

Provides nursing measures to alleviate or reduce pain.

Demonstrates therapeutic communication.

Establishes therapeutic and professional boundaries.

Integrates knowledge, experience, professional standards and hospital policies into nursing practice.

Meets unit specific technical skills.

Practices with the rules and regulations defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
