The Pulmonary Function Technician supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality while performing all aspects of pulmonary function testing, oxygen evaluations with exercise testing and arterial blood gas draws on inpatients and outpatients.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- College AS or AA degree
- Two years of training at an approved school of Respiratory Care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care and/or specialty registration in Pulmonary Function testing
- Licensure by the Arizona State Board for Respiratory Care
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification
- Current AHA ACLS certification
- Current AHA PALS certification
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills pertinent to respiratory therapy as well as specific understanding of lung volumes and capacities necessary to understand performance of pulmonary functions testing maneuvers to include: FVC, MVV, Diffusion, and measurement of lung volumes by plethysmography and gas dilution
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
- Ability to utilize computer designed for pulmonary function testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
- Must pass pre-employment screening
