Clinical Healthcare Content Manager


Overview of Position

Oversees the development and execution of the InterQual® clinical content strategy in alignment with the CHC organization and InterQual® Product and Strategy to meet DS financial and operational targets. Plans and prioritizes clinical content deliverables to address customer and business requirements, including the development and monitoring of annual Scope and Capacity documents. Manages the clinical content developers and clinical lead(s) that contribute to the planned deliverables. Organizes work group structure and assigns resources to execute on plan. Responsible for performance management and development of assigned staff.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Develops and supports a clinical development team through effective hiring, on boarding, orientation, training, performance management, disciplinary action as needed, termination, quarterly OKR performance planning, and evaluation and development of skills and competencies necessary for career success.

  • Based on annual Scope and Capacity documents, coordinates and assigns internal or external resources to content development projects and adjusts resources as needed if project plans deviate from optimum performance targets. Identifies and implements process improvements to gain efficiencies.

  • Collaborates with InterQual® Product Management, Content Product Director, Content Strategy, Medical Directors, Software Development and other stakeholders to create the annual scope and capacity plan for new content development, existing content enhancements and updates for products under their responsibility.

  • Manages an annual content development, quality assurance and release process consisting of planning, execution and tracking of large complex projects that include but are not restricted to: Scheduled clinical content update cycles using traditional, sprint or Kanban content development workflow and tracking models;

  • Content development LOE models, measure performance and variance, and execute plans for performance improvement and/or refinement of scope and capacity models; Content development activities of a clinical team to ensure established quality, evidence based content development standards are met, performance measurements are established and understood; Development support or resource needs are identified and provided; Content is consistent within and across IQ and other CHC products.

  • Collaborates across content groups, departments and CHC to support synergistic process and efficiency improvement opportunities.

  • Accountable, in collaboration with Clinical Lead and Medical Director, for clinical subject matter support for Product Management, Content Product Director, Business Services, Documentation, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Customer Support and Consulting Services.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Five or more year’s clinical nursing or healthcare experience with emphasis on clinical algorithms, utilization management, case management, managed care, and /or quality assurance required.

  • R.N. (with a professional license in good standing) or equivalent healthcare experience required. Degree in nursing preferred.

  • Solid knowledge of the clinical/healthcare field

  • Subject matter expertise in clinical research, technical writing and publishing, a clinical specialty, or health care policy

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet project deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel

  • Problem-solving skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results

  • Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles

  • May have some limited travel
