This position is responsible for managing and mentoring store associates to ensure execution and follow through of all Petsense programs and initiatives through the use of timely, relevant, effective, and professional communication.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all associates deliver world class customer service
2. Manager store associates and store operations to grow sales and profitability of their stores
3. Communicate with store associates to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability
4. Partner with local communities for marketing events such as mailers, promotional booklets, flyers, and signage
5. Hire and train associates to deliver great store conditions in accordance with Petsense standards
6. Instruct store associates on job responsibilities on an ongoing basis
7. Manage inventory levels through proper cycle counts and physical inventory processes
8. Supervise the pricing of product set forth by store support team
9. Partner with store support to investigate potential loss prevention issues and take disciplinary action when necessary
10. Manage and schedule associates to deliver great customer service and achieve payroll budget
11. Ensure cash drawers and vault counts are reconciled accurately on a daily basis
12. Supervise, receive and examine deliveries for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
13. Interview and hire store staff
14. Enforce and take disciplinary action when company policies are violated if needed
15. Assign daily duties and supervise store staff to ensure smooth daily operations
16. Conduct performance evaluations for store associates in accordance with policy
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of two years retail leadership experience. Retail, or pet knowledge is preferred.
Education: High School diploma of the equivalent is required. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Strong interpersonal and ability to resolved issues ethically and with minimal conflict
