Human Resources Generalist – The Kirtland Country Club – Willoughby, OH

The Kirtland Country Club is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist/Accounts Payable candidate. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR Generalist role
  • Minimum Associate Degree
  • Certification in HR
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous experience with Paychex or similar HRIS systems such as ADP Workforce Now
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily interruptions

Human Resource Responsibilities

The above position will require approximately an annual average of 25 hours per week. There is a higher demand during the peak of the golf season. The job duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists club management in recruitment, selection, and orientation of all new staff, including club facility tour.
  • Maintains all record keeping related to Human Resources and Employment issues. Ensure all documentation is

fully and accurately completed before new hires begin employment.

  • Conducts background checks on new employees.
  • Ensures that all missed time punches are corrected by department managers by payroll deadline.
  • Maintains and inputs time off requests.
  • Processes biweekly payroll for 75-200 employees, depending on season.
  • Prepares weekly payroll reports comparing payroll expenditures to payroll budgets.
  • Administers Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life, and 401k
  • Updates and maintains the employee and training handbooks.
  • Maintains Club compliance with federal and state legislation.
  • Processes biweekly 401k and H.S.A contributions.
  • Monitors compliance with governmental regulations, safety and workers compensation.
  • Initiates and encourages employee educational programs.
  • Coaches and provides guidance to managers on employee relations issues.
  • Communicates with legal counsel on discipline procedures and terminations.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Investigates workplace incidents or accidents and prepares appropriate recommendations and reports.
  • Responsible for unemployment claim responses and reporting.
  • Plans yearly employee holiday party.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities

The above position will require approximately an annual average of 15 hours per week. There is a higher demand during the peak of the golf season. The job duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains records of accounts payable. This includes entering new vendors into the Jonas Accounting System, maintaining and updating W-9 records, and updating address changes.
  • Data entry of club invoices and verifying the accuracy of entries.
  • Ensures club policy is followed for invoice approval procedures.
  • Biweekly check run and individual checks prepared as needed.
  • Reconciles accounts payable statements of accounts. This includes communications with vendors and managers to investigate account discrepancies.
  • Assists with answering phones when necessary.
  • Provides support to the staff to achieve company goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
