Preston Dermatology seeking a full-time Medial Assistant/LPN to join our growing team. This Candidate must be able to work both our Cary and Wake Forest office. Full-time candidate must be available to work Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Our ideal candidate is a hard working, team-player, able to multi-task, and possesses the ability to work under pressure and pay close attention to detail. Candidate should be interested in learning how to perform some cosmetic services. Minimum 2 years of dermatology experience required, Modernizing Medicine (EMA) EHR is a plus!
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greet and call patients promptly, efficiently and in a professional manner
- Escort patients to their destination(s); obtains and records medical histories
- Prepares patients for exams and procedures
- Assists physician with exams and surgical procedures and corresponding order entry
- Patient education and care coordination
- Properly documenting entries into the patient’s electronic medical record
- Ensure patient’s chart is up to date with appropriate information
- Patient triage
- Relay important messages the providers have sent in response to patients’ requests
- Returning patient calls and notifies patients of diagnostic results as directed by the physician
- Demonstrating competence in patient care skills within the scope of practice for the RN
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures including regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA and infection prevention
- Maintain an environment of safety for patients, self and others
- Plans and organizes patient care in clinics
- Collects and prepares pathology specimens
- Authorized drug refills as directed
- Obtain prior authorization for both prescriptions and procedures in a timely manner
- Performs sterilization of medical supplies
- Changes sterile, non-sterile dressing and removes sutures
- Cleans, organizes, and maintains examination rooms, work area and other assigned areas
- Performs office duties including inventory, and ordering supplies
- Scheduling appointments to accommodate their request and the providers availability
- May perform other clerical duties related to clinical activities

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
