Overview

Compliance is seeking an analyst within the surveillance team to learn and assist in various aspects of the program. The primary function of the role will be focused on improving the quality & effectiveness of the surveillance alert generation process in addition to investigating trading related activities to detect potential insider trading, market abuse, and/or violations of the Firm’s trading policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveillance of trading activities utilizing various resources to detect inappropriate, abusive, or manipulative trading behaviors to ensure compliance with appropriate rules, regulations, and Firm policies

  • Document research results and escalate violations and/or suspicious activity according to Firm policy and regulatory requirements

  • Assist with surveillance enhancements and working on strategic surveillance projects and ability to review, analyze and investigate issues within the surveillance platform

  • Liaise with the SME’s, IT, and senior management in the development, review, and testing of scenario and application changes

  • Assist in collating responses for regulatory exams and inquiries

  • Review and update the key operating documents

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a college degree (prefer in Finance, Business or Accounting) or equivalent work experience

  • Understanding of financial markets and financial products (including stocks, bonds, equity/credit derivatives)

  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, experience with large data sets, proficient in data manipulation and presentation)

  • Team player with great attitude, interpersonal skills and strong work ethic
