Our GPS Technology Organization is a structure within the US GPS practice that implements and maintains a new operate and technology model designed specifically to support U.S. defense and Government engagements.

The opportunity
As an experienced Microsoft O365 engineer, you’ll have good knowledge around the Office 365 platform and the associated services. You’ll be providing support for areas involving Powershell scripting, licensing, provisioning, authentication, graph API etc. with a good understanding of O365 RBAC models, AAD, O365 Groups, storage and hosting as well as knowledge of O365 services including Exchange, SharePoint/ODB, etc. You’ll be part of a global Microsoft 365 support team in a large, complex and multinational environment.

Your key responsibilities

  • Core O365 engineering work (mainly focused on O365, identity management, O365 license assignment, service delivery and management, incident/problem triage of managed services)
  • Working with other engineers and Operations staff to test, implement and transition new services, or upgrades to existing core foundational services in the O365 space
  • Support for the various existing services such as end user Mailbox provisioning, O365 identity integration, environment management, Azure AD Group Based licensing
  • Provide input and recommendations on areas of service improvement both from a technical point of view, but also from a process perspective
  • Responsible for certain technical and non-technical deliverables within assigned projects and areas of responsibility, including collaboration with solution architects, engineers, operational staff, project managers and core service owners
  • Reporting and KPI statistics gathering to complement service ownership
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge related to Change Management and working with other service owners to align platform configuration to agreed upon service changes and understand potential issues related to the changes
  • Taking part in projects as a subject matter resource or as a representative of the service owner
  • The role may require out of office hours work
  • Intercontinental travel may be required

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to set up a network of technical and non-technical contacts across various teams to help provide appropriate support for existing services, as well as helping to drive delivery of solutions and/or resolution of various problems
  • You must be flexible to the demands of the services we provide and any project to which they are assigned
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills are required to manage multiple technical challenges from multiple services and projects simultaneously
  • Evaluate recommendations provided for service improvements, with the ability to identify any gaps or alternate solutions
  • Proactively anticipate service issues before they occur and be able to drive suggested changes to execution
  • Windows and Remote Powershell scripting, Graph API skills
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 7 plus years of experience working in an IT Messaging or appropriate function
  • Experience with O365 implementations ideally across multiple sites and geos
  • Understand attribute management as it relates to O365 identities such as user objects, O365 Groups, Exchange shared mailboxes, License Management etc.
  • Experience with integrating internal infrastructures and processes with Office 365 cloud environments, including security and RBAC models.
  • Good understanding of primary services like Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive for Business
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top secret security clearance

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Good understanding of core and secondary O365 services such as PowerBI, Teams, Planner, To-Do etc
  • Good understanding of Azure and Active Directory in a multi forest/domain infrastructure, including authentication and authorization principles
  • User account management and troubleshooting
  • Technical project management skills
